Biography/Additional Facts

Ahmed Johnson is most well know for his role in WWE in the late 90s. He was the first African-American to win the WWF Intercontinental Championship.

He debuted for the WWF in late 1995 at Survivor Series, where he was a participant in the "Wild-Card" match, where both faces and heels were placed in teams.

He made an immediate impression in the company, by becoming the second man to bodyslam Yokozuna (after Lex Luger).

He then went into a feud with Jeff Jarrett. After Jarrett left for WCW, Johnson was involved in feuds with Owen Hart and the British Bulldog (1996).

He won the Intercontinental Title at King of the Ring 1996 against Goldust, the peak moment in his career.

However in the summer of 1996, after an attack by Farooq on RAW, he was diagnosed with kidney problems, this put him out of action for 4 months, and forced him to vacate the world title.

He remained in WWF for another 2 years but never really recovered from his injury. Ahmed left the WWF in 1998 after apparently refusing to do an angle.

He made a few appearances in WCW in 1999 under the name "Big T" but he never really made an impact.
